Uomo ferito alle gambe a Creggan, Derry

La polizia di Derry chiede aiuto ai testimoni, dopo il ferimento alle gambe di un uomo avvenuto lunedì sera

ventiquattrenne è stato colpito da proiettili alle ginocchia ed alle caviglie dopo l’ingresso nella sua casa di uomini a volto coperto. L’aggressione è avvenuta a Carrickreagh Gardens, nel quartiere di Creggan, intorno alle 23:25.

La vittima è stata trascinata con la forza giù dalla camera da letto, al piano superiore, fino in salotto, dove ha avuto luogo il ferimento.

L’uomo adesso si trova ricoverato in ospedale per le cure mediche.

Il consigliere nazionalista dello SDLP, Jim Clifford, ha condannato l’attacco.

“Questi continui attacchi in stile paramilitare sono un ritorno ai brutti giorni del passato e sfortunatamente alcuni sembra vogliano farci ripiombare in quel periodo”, ha affermato.

Man shot in legs by masked gang

Police in Londonderry are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot in his legs on Monday night.

The 24-year-old was shot in his knees and ankles after masked men forced their way into his home in Carrickreagh Gardens in Creggan at about 2325 BST.

He was dragged from an upstairs bedroom and taken to the living room where the attack took place.

The man is being treated in hospital for his injuries.

SDLP councillor Jim Clifford condemned the attack in Creggan.

“These continuing paramilitary-style attacks are a return to the bad old days and unfortunately some people seem to want to take us back to those bad old days,” he said.
