Uno degli uomini è stato trasportato in ospedale dopo essere stato colpito una volta ad una gamba durante l’attacco in Norglen Parade, nel quartiere di Turf Lode. L’attacco è avvenuto nella serata di sabato. Le ferite dell’uomo “non mettono a repentaglio la vita”.
Nessun altro si trovava nell’abitazione al momento. Ieri pomeriggio nessuno si trovava in casa.
I vicini di casa non hanno voluto speculare sui motivi dell’attacco, mentre uno ha parlato di shock in tutto il vicinato per l’accaduto.
“Ci sono molti giovani qui intorno e mi spaventa pensare che uno di loro sarebbe potuto essere colpito se si fosse trovato nel posto sbagliato al momento sbagliato”, ha riferito.
L’attacco è stato denunciato alla polizia intorno alle 23.
La polizia sta lavorando per stabilire un motivo per l’attacco e non hanno escluso il coinvolgimento dei paramilitari.
Man hit in leg after shots fired through window in Belfast
One of the men was rushed to hospital after being struck once in the leg during the attack at Norglen Parade in the Turf Lodge estate on Saturday night. His injuries were described as “not life-threatening” last night.
No-one else was in the property at the time. There was no response at the house yesterday afternoon.
Neighbours didn’t wish to speculate on why the victim was targeted, though one said the shooting had caused shock throughout the area.
“There are a lot of young children around here and it terrifies me to think one of them could have been hit if they’d been in the wrong place at the wrong time,” he said.
The attack was reported to police shortly after 11pm.
Police say they are working to establish a motive for the shooting and have not ruled out paramilitary involvement.
