Uomo formalmente accusato per attacco a Massereene Barracks

Un uomo è stato accusato della morte di due soldati e del tentato omicidio di altre sei persone persso una base militare in Irlanda del Nord

I genieri Mark Quinsey, 23 anni di Birmingham, e Patrick Azimkar, 21 anni di Londra, sono morti presso la base di Massereene a marzo, mentre aspettavano la consegna delle pizze ai cancelli della base di Antrim.

Il fermato, 44 anni, è stato accusato anche di possesso di arma da fuoco e proiettili con intento di procurare danni alle vite umane.

E’ stato arrestato martedì nel Mid-Ulster e comparirà più tardi presso il tribunale di Ballymena.

Un uomo (Colin Duffy, Ndt) è già stato accusato di aver preso parte all’attacco, avvenuto il 7 marzo.

Gli uomini armati, appartenenti alla Real IRA, hanno aperto il fuoco contro i soldati all’esterno della caserma, mentre ritiravano delle pizze.

Tra i feriti ci sono anche i fattorini.

Man Charged Over NI Barracks Murders

A man has been charged with the murders of two soldiers and the attempted murder of six other people at a military base in Northern Ireland.

Sappers Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham, and Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London, were shot dead at Massereene Army barracks in March as they waited for a pizza delivery at the gates of the Antrim base.

The 44-year-old has also been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

He was arrested in mid-Ulster on Tuesday and is due appear in court in Ballymena, Co Antrim later.

One man has already been charged with the attack which took place on March 7.

Gunmen from the dissident republican Real IRA opened fire on the soldiers outside the barracks as they collected pizzas.

Those injured in the attack included pizza delivery men.
