Un uomo collegato alla “New INLA” è rimasto gravemente ferito dopo un attacco armato avvenuto martedì a nord di Dublino
Il trentasettenne, accolito di Declan “Whacker” Duffy, è stato colpito nella zona di Dun Emer a Lusk intorno alle 9:30.
I membri della “New INLA” sarebbero collegati agli attacchi armati eseguiti per conto del cartello della famiglia Kinahan nelle ultime settimane, ma non è chiaro se l’attacco di martedì è legato a tale faida tra bande criminali.
La vittima è stata colpita ripetutamente dai proiettili sparati da un killer solitario che ha abbandonato la scena su una vettura ritrovata in fiamme a poca distanza.
Un sodale dell’uomo ferito a Lusk è divenuto irreperibile dopo l’attacco armato avvenuto al Regency Hotel di Dublino a inizio anno.
La Gardai aveva perquisito la sua abitazione subito dopo l’attacco ma l’uomo era già latitante.
Il ferimento di martedì a Lusk avviene solo tre giorni dopo l’uccisione di David Douglas avvenuta all’esterno del negozio di Dublino di proprietà della moglie.
I membri della famiglia criminale dei Kinahan sono ritenuti i primi responsabili per l’attacco mortale.
Già in precedenza, nel novembre 2015, avevano tentato di assassinare Douglas.
La “New INLA” lavorerebbe per il cartello dei Kinahan durante la faida in corso a Dublino e i membri del gruppo armato porterebbero a termine gli attacchi armati per conto della famiglia criminale.
Man linked with ‘New INLA’ seriously injured in gun attack
A man linked to the ‘New INLA’ has been seriously injured following a gun attack in north Dublin this morning.
The man (37), who is an associate of Declan ‘Whacker’ Duffy, was shot in the Dun Emer estate in Lusk around 9.30am.
Members of the ‘New INLA’ have been linked to gun attacks carried out on behalf of the Kinahan cartel in recent weeks but it is unclear at this stage if today’s incident is linked to the feud.
The victim was shot a number of times by a lone gunman who fled the scene in a car which was found burnt out a short distance away.
An associate of today’s victim has been on the run since a feud-related shooting in Dublin’s north inner city earlier this year
Gardai raided his home following the shooting but he had already fled.
Today’s shooting comes just three days after David Douglas was shot dead outside his wife’s shop in Dublin’s south inner city.
Associates of the Kinahan cartel are the prime suspects in carrying out that attack.
They were also linked to another attempt on Douglas’ life last November.
The New INLA have been working with the Kinahan cartel during the feud and are suspected of acting as guns for hire for the Cartel.
