Vandals attack church that housed Romanian families
City Church provided overnight accommodation for more than 100 Romanian immigrants last week after they fled their homes amid a campaign of abuse and attacks from a local mob.
The immigrants have since been re-housed in an undisclosed location.
Last night, some of the church’s windows were smashed, but the local pastor, Malcolm Morgan, says he isn’t sure if the attack was linked to the controversy surrounding the Romanian families.
Even if it was retaliation, he says, he has no regrets about putting the families up for the night..
