Un uomo di 25 anni dovrà comparire in tribunale a Belfast il 12 aprile, per un commento pubblicato su Facebook.
È stato arrestato martedì a Carrickfergus dagli agenti della PSNI della squadra investigativa impegnata nell’Operazione Dulcet, istituita per indagare sui reati collegati alla disputa sulle bandiere.
L’uomo è stato interrogato e poi mercoledì è stata formalizzata l’accusa di utilizzo improprio dei network di comunicazione elettronica.
L’accusa sarebbe relativa ad un commento offensivo scritto su Facebook.
Le proteste legate alla disputa sulle bandiere sono iniziate in Irlanda del Nord il 3 dicembre scorso, quando una mozione presentata al Belfast City Council ha stabilito che la bandiera dell’Unione deve sventolare sui pennoni della City Hall in giorni prestabiliti.

Ulster man to face court over Facebook comment
A 25-year-old man is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on April 12, over a comment he made on the social networking website Facebook.
He was arrested in Carrickfergus on Tuesday PSNI officers from the Operation Dulcet Enquiry Team investigating offences linked to the ongoing flag protests.
The young man was questioned by police before being charged on Wednesday evening with improper use of public electronic communications network.
It is believed the charge is in connection with offensive comments posted on facebook.
Protests have been ongoing across Northern Ireland in support of the Union flag at Belfast City Hall since December 3 when a meeting of Belfast City Council voted to only fly the flag on 20 statutory days each year.
