Ieri sera hanno sparato ad un ventitreenne, ferendolo ad una gamba
Il giovane è stato attaccato da due uomini a volto coperto mentre si trovava in una sala scommesse a Central Drive, nel quartiere di Creggan.
Il ferimento con arma da fuoco è avvenuto intorno alle 20:35 (ora locale) di lunedì. Le ferite riportate dal ventitreenne non mettono in pericolo la sua vita.
Il consigliere dello Sinn Féin Kevin Campbell ha descritto il ferimento come “un’altra sparatoria insensata” e che molti giovani di un vicino club hanno assistito all’attacco.
“Il giovane aveva giocato una partita di calcio poco prima, attraversato il campo di gioco e uscito”, ha riferito il politico.
“Stava giocando ad una macchina all’interno della sala scommesse quando sono entrati due uomini a volto coperto che lo hanno fatto sdraiare a terra e gli hanno sparato ad una gamba.
“C’era molto sangue sul pavimento.
“La comunità (di Creggan, ndt) non vuole questo genere di comportamenti” ha concluso.

Man shot in the leg in Creggan, Derry, bookmakers
A 23-year-old man has been shot in the leg in Londonderry.
He was attacked by two masked men inside a bookmakers’ shop at Central Drive in the Creggan area of the city.
It happened at about 20:35 BST on Monday. The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Sinn Fein councillor Kevin Campbell described it as “another pointless shooting” and said a number of young people from a nearby youth club had witnessed the attack.
“He had played a football match earlier, across the way on the football field, then came over,” he said.
“He was playing a poker machine when two masked men came in and forced him to ground and shot him in the leg.
“You could see he was injured as there was blood on the ground.
“This community doesn’t want this type of behaviour.”
