Attacco con vernice contro la Drummurry Orange Hall di Ballinamallard
La parete frontale dell’edificio, in Enniskillen Road a Ballinamallard, è stata bersaglio delle bombe di vernice nella notte di giovedì.
Un portavoce dell’Orange Order ha detto che anche una scultura di Re Guglielmo è stata imbrattata con la vernice.
Nel parcheggio della Orange Hall, ha inoltre affermato, è stata ritrovata una cartuccia di un fucile da caccia non esplosa.
Ha dichiarato: “L’incidente di Ballinamallard è il sedicesimo attacco finora denunciato contro proprietà dell’Orange Order quest’anno.
“Questo è stato un attacco palesemente settario e i responsabili dovrebbero vergognarsi per le loro azioni.
“Imbrattando deliberatamente una scultura di Re William situata sull’edificio, il vero intento degli autori era chiaro. Il loro misero fallimento nel tollerare la cultura ed il patrimonio protestante, e la mancanza di comprensione, è sotto gli occhi di tutti”.
La polizia ha detto che stanno studiando le segnalazioni del danneggiamento.
Hanno aggiunto: “La polizia si appella a chiunque abbia assistito all’incidente o abbia informazioni a riguardo”.
Il parlamentare unionista Tom Elliott ha condannato l’attacco.
Ha detto: “Ho capito che nel corso della notte di Halloween, una persona o un gruppo di persone ha deciso di attaccate la Drummurry Orange Hall gettando vernice contro l’edificio. Non solo hanno deturpato il muro frontale ma hanno anche imbrattato una statua di Re Guglielmo III.
“Questa è un’area che sta andando avanti e che gode di eccellenti relazioni comunitarie. Non permetteremo a simili atti settari di riportarci indietro”.

Paint attack on Hall in Ballinamallard
There has been a paint attack on Drummurry Orange Hall in Co Fermanagh.
The front wall of the building, on the Enniskillen Road in Ballinamallard, was targeted some time overnight on Thursday.
A spokesman for the Orange Order said a carving of King William was daubed with paint.
He also claimed an unused shotgun cartridge was discovered in the carpark of the Hall.
A statement said: “The Ballinamallard incident is the sixteenth reported attack on Orange property so far this year.
“This was a blatant sectarian attack and those responsible should be ashamed of their actions.
“By deliberately daubing paint on a carving of King William on the front of the hall, the true intent of the perpetrators was clear. Their abject failure to tolerate Protestant culture and heritage, and lack of understanding, was also exposed for all to see.”
Police said they are investigating the reports of criminal damage.
They added: “Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact them at Enniskillen Police Station on 0845 600 8000.”
Local Ulster Unionist MLA Tom Elliott condemned the attack.
He said: “It’s my understanding that during the course of Halloween night, someone or a group of individuals decided to vandalise Drummurry Orange Hall by throwing paint over the front of the building. They not only defaced the front wall but also covered a carved stone set in the wall which displays King William III.
“This is an area which is moving forward and which enjoys excellent community relations. We won’t allow sectarian acts like this to hold us back.”
