Dublino nominata Città della Letteratura da UNESCO

Dublino è stata nominata Città della Letteratura dall’UNESCO, una delle sole quattro città in tutto il mondo.

Il ministro per la Cultura, Turismo e Sport Mary Hanifin ha detto che la nomina sarà un incentivo benvenuto per il turismo culturale nella capitale per i prossimi anni.

“Essere una delle sole quattro città nel mondo a ricevere lo status di Città della Letteratura UNESCO, permetterà a Dublinodi incrementare la sua quota di mercato di turisti e attrarre più gente sia nella città che nell’isola d’Irlanda”, ha detto.

Il premio UNESCO Città della Letteratura fa parte del Creative Cities Network lanciato nel 2004.

Dublino si unisce a Iowa City, Melbourne e Edinburgo nella lista dell’UNESCO.

Dublin named UNESCO City of Literature

Dublin has been named a UNESCO City of Literature, one of only four such cities worldwide.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport Mary Hanifin said the award will be a welcome boost for cultural tourism in the capital in the coming years.

‘Being one of only four cities in the world to achieve the status of UNESCO City of Literature, will enable Dublin to increase its market share of tourists and attract more people to both the city and the island of Ireland,’ she said.

The UNESCO City of Literature award is part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network launched in 2004.

Dublin joins Iowa City, Melbourne, and title=”Edinburgh City of Literature”>Edinburgh on the UNESCO list.
