Nessun ritiro delle accuse per il fratello di Alan Ryan

La Corte Speciale Penale della Repubblica d’Irlanda ha rifiutato la richiesta di cancellare l’accusa di appartenenza all’IRA pronunciata contro il fratello del leader della Real IRA Alan Ryan e contro un altro uomo, dopo l’aggiornamento chiesto per analizzare una serie di prove.

Vincent Ryan, 22 anni, è accusato di appartenenza a un’organizzazione illegale.

Anche Darragh Evans, 23 anni, e Nathan Kinsella, 33 anni, devono rispondere dello stesso reato. Ryan e Evans devono rispondere anche di accuse legate ad armi da fuoco.

L’avvocato di Evans chiesto alla corte di far decadere l’accusa di appartenenza all’IRA e di procedere con una richiesta di cauzione. Stessa procedura è stata adottata dal legale di Vincent Ryan.

Il giudice Paul Butler ha rimandato i due in custodia cautelare fino al 21 novembre quando verranno valutate le prove riguardanti l’accusa sulle armi da fuoco. L’appartenenza all’IRA verrà valutata il giorno 11 docembre.

Irish court refuses bid to strike out IRA charge against brother of dissident Alan Ryan

The Special Criminal Court in the Rrepublic of Ireland has refused a request to strike out a charge of IRA membership against the brother of dissident Alan Ryan and another man after adjournment was sought on the service of a book of evidence.

Vincent Ryan (22) is charged with membership of an unlawful organisation.

Darragh Evans (23) and Nathan Kinsella (33) are charged with the same offence. Ryan and Evans also face firearms charges.

Counsel for Evans asked the court to strike the membership charge to proceed with a bail application. Counsel for Ryan adopted the same position.

Mr Justice Paul Butler remanded the pair in custody to November 21 for service of the firearms charges book of evidence. He listed December 11 for the book of evidence on the membership charges.
