Derry: pipe bomb contro la casa di uomo gambizzato settimana scorsa. Opera del RAAD?

Una pipe bomb attiva è stata trovata all’esterno della casa di un uomo colpito in un attacco la scorsa settimana

Dozzine di residenti nella zona di Carnhill sono stati evacuati dalle loro abitazioni mercoledì mattina, mentre gli artificieri dell’esercito analizzavano l’ordigno esplosivo.

Si è trattato del secondo incidente nella zona in meno di una settimana.

I residenti hanno riferito a Utv di temere che l’allarme bomba e la punizione in stile paramilitare possano essere collegati.

“Queste sono le voci che circolano nella zona”, dice un uomo.

“Se fosse così, se puniscono la gente per alcune denunce, allora cos’è questo? Vogliono punire anche l’intera comunità?”

Mentre non ci sono ancora rivendicazioni per la pipe bomb, il gruppo Republican Action Against Group (RAAD) si è assunto la responsasbilità per la punizione dello scorso venerdì.

L’uomo oggetto della punizione è stato colpito da cinque proiettili durante l’attacco.

Pipe bomb targets gun attack victim

A viable pipe bomb has been found outside the home of a Londonderry man who was shot and wounded in an attack last week.

Dozens of residents in the Carnhill area of the city were moved from their homes on Wednesday morning, while army bomb experts examined the explosive device.

It was the second security incident in the street in less than a week.

Residents have told UTV they fear the suspected bomb alert and shooting may be linked.

“That’s the rumour that’s in the area,” one man said.

“If that’s the case, if they’re going to punish people because of allegations, then what’s this? Are they going to punish the whole community as well?”

While no-one has yet admitted planting the pipe bomb, last Friday’s shooting was claimed by the dissident group Republican Action Against Drugs – known as RAAD.

The man they targeted was wounded when five bullets were fired in the attack.
