La polizia ha promesso di “portare i responsabili in tribunale”
La polizia è stata attaccata dai repubblicani per quattro notti consecutive a North Belfast.
Bottiglie molotov sono state lanciate contro gli agenti e una vettura è stata bruciata nel flashpoint degli Ardoyne Shops (i negozi di Ardoyne).
Una donna sarebbe stata fatta scendere dal veicolo parcheggiato in Duneden Gardens.
La polizia ha sparato proiettili di plastica ed utilizzato cannoni ad acqua durante i disordini.
Alcuni agenti di polizia hanno subito lesioni che non sono ritenute gravi.
Il disordine all’interfaccia, nella quarta serata di scontri, non era così violento come nelle ultime tre serate, con meno persone partecipanti.
La calma è stata restaurata intorno alle 02:00.
L’Assistant Chief Constable Duncan McCausland ha detto che la polizia ha usato tattiche “efficaci” durante i disordini.
“Si trattava di un gruppo di persone notevolmente inferiore rispetto alle serate precedenti, che comprendeva un nocciolo duro composto da circa 12 persone intente a causare disordine.
“Accanto alle nostre efficaci operazioni di polizia durante i disordini, ora continueremo a lavorare duramente per dare un’identità a coloro che sono coinvolti .”
“Faremo del nostro meglio per portare le persone in tribunale. Sia molto chiaro che possiamo e continueremo a mantenere la sicurezza pubblica e la fiducia della gente”.
Un uomo di età attorno ai 20 anni è stato arrestato ed è stato rilasciato in attesa di ulteriori indagini.
Anche un altro ragazzo è stato fermato e continua ad aiutare la polizia nelle loro indagini.
La polizia ha detto che cercherà di individuare e arrestare le persone coinvolte .
Più di 80 ufficiali di polizia sono stati feriti in disordini di questa settimana in tutta l’Irlanda del Nord quando le tensioni che circondano le commemorazioni del 12 luglio sono sfociate in violenza e disordine.

Police step up hunt for Belfast rioters
Police investigating rioting in north Belfast have vowed to “bring those responsible before the courts.”
Police came under attack from republican rioters for the fourth night in succession in north Belfast overnight.
Petrol bombs were thrown at officers and a car burned out at the Ardoyne shops flashpoint.
It is understood a woman was pulled from the parked vehicle at Duneden Gardens.
Police fired a number of baton rounds and used water cannons during the trouble.
A number of police officers suffered injuries which are not believed to be serious.
The disorder at the notorious interface was not as sustained as it had been over the previous three nights with fewer rioters taking part.
Calm was restored to the area around 2am.
Assistant Chief Constable Duncan McCausland said police tactics used during the rioting were ‘effective.’
“This was a substantially smaller group of people than previous evenings which included around a hardened core of around 12 people who were intent on causing disorder.”
“Alongside our effective police operations during the incidents of disorder, we will now continue to work hard to identity those involved.”
“We will be doing our utmost to put people before the courts. We are very clear that we can and we will continue to maintain public safety and public confidence.”
A man aged in his early 20s was arrested and was released pending further enquiries.
A teenage boy was also detained and is continuing to assist police with their enquiries.
Police have said they will seek to identify and arrest those involved.
