Una donna è rimasta scossa dal lancio di molotov contro la sua casa di Ballymena
Alcune altre molotov hanno colpito l’esterno dell’edificio.
Bruciature sono state causate al pavimento, ai muri ed alle tende, mentre anche il telaio della finestra ha subito danni.
La donna – di nazionalità polacca – era da sola nella casa al momento dell’attacco e non è rimasta ferita.
La polizia afferma che “un motivo per l’attacco non è stato ancora stabilito – l’indagine è ad uno stadio iniziale”.
I poliziotti chiedono informazioni su un furgone bianco visto in Galgorm Road intorno all’ora dell’attacco.
Declan O’Loan, parlamentare dello SDLP, ha condannato l’attacco e chiesto ai testimoni di andare alla polizia.
“Condanno di tutto cuore questo selvaggio attacco che avrebbe potuto causare la perdita di una vita”, ha affermato.
“Inoltre sembra che questo crimine possa essere di motivo razziale.
“Sebbene Ballymena abbia già visto questo tipo di attacchi in precedente, sono stati pochi negli ultimi anni e la gente sperava di aver consegnato questo tipo di crimini ai libri di storia”.

Ballymena home petrol bombed
A woman has been left shaken by a petrol bomb attack on a house in Ballymena.
A number of other devices also hit the outside of the building.
Scorch damage has been caused to the floor, walls and curtains and a window frame was also damaged.
The woman – who is understood to be Polish – was alone in the house at the time of the attack and escaped injury.
A police spokesman said: “A motive for the attack has not yet been established – the investigation is at an early stage.”
Officers have appealed for information, specifically about a white van which was seen on the Galgorm Road around the time of the incident.
Local SDLP MLA Declan O’Loan has condemned those responsible and urged any witness to come forward to police.
“I wholeheartedly deplore this savage attack which could easily have resulted in the loss of life,” he said.
“On the face of it, it appears that this crime may have been racially motivated.
“Although Ballymena has experienced attacks of this nature before, there have been very few in recent years and people had hoped that this type of crime had been consigned to the history books.”
