Sammy Wilson: bilancio sotto minaccia

Solo quattro ministeri hanno finalizzato i loro bilanci, sebbene il bilancio complessivo a disposizione di Stormont avesse ricevuto il via libera lo scorso mese

Il ministro delle Finanze Sammy Wilson ha avvertito che la consultazione sul budget pianificato è messa sotto minaccia.

“Nonostante il fatto che le informazioni sarebbero dovute essere a disposizione prima di Natale, solo il mio ministero, quello della Cultura, Arti e Tempo Libero, il ministero della Giustizia ed il ministero delle Imprese, Commercio ed Industria le hanno pubblicate”, ha affermato Wilson a Utv.

“Non credo che la consultazione possa aver luogo in maniera adeguata senza che le informazioni siano rese disponibili”, aggiunge Wilson.

Il parlamentare del DUP descrive la situazione come grave.

“Penso che l’intero processo di scrutinio del governo sia molto grave.

“La gente deve sapere come i ministeri intendono fare i tagli richiesti nei prossimi quattro anni, in modo da poter commentare l’operazione.

“Il lavoro dell’Assemblea non si può portare avanti fino a quando queste informazioni non vengono fornite ai comitati dell’Assemblea”.

Il parlamentari ed i ministri di Stormont rientreranno al lavoro settimana prossima dopo la pausa natalizia.

Budget under threat – Wilson

Only four executive departments have finalised their budgets even though the overall Stormont budget was agreed last month, UTV can reveal.

Finance Minister Sammy Wilson has warned the planned budget consultation is being threatened.

“So far despite the fact the information was supposed to be available before Christmas, only my own department, the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure, the Department of Justice and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Industry have published those”, Mr Wilson told UTV.

“I don’t think the consultation can take place in a proper way without that information being made available”, Mr Wilson added.

Mr Wilson described the situation as serious.

“I think for the whole process of scrutiny of government it is very serious.

“People need to know how departments intend to make their savings over the next four years and comment on that.

“The work of the assembly can’t possibly be carried forward until this information is given to assembly committees.”

MLAs and Ministers at Stormont will return from their Christmas break next week.
