Agenti di polizia sono stati attaccati domenica sera, per la terza notte consecutiva, nella zona di Broadway a West Belfast. Secondo la PSNI gli attacchi sarebbero “orchestrati”
Tuttavia, i disordini sono durati meno di 30 minuti .
Sabato notte, sei poliziotti sono stati feriti durante i disordini scoppiati nelle zone di Broadway e Bog Meadows intorno alle 20:30.
Molotov , pietre e fuochi d’artificio sono stati gettati contro la polizia da gruppi rivali lealisti e nazionalisti.
Un uomo avrebbe attaccato un veicolo della polizia con una scure.
Un certo numero di bombole di gas sono state gettate in mezzo alla strada ed una macchina è stata datao alle fiamme durante i disordini.
Il comandante della zona ovest di Belfast, l’ispettore capo Emma Mooney ha detto: “La violenza che abbiamo visto la scorsa notte è stata orchestrata e ciò che abbiamo fatto vedere come risultato di una ricerca era un nascondiglio con muratura pesante, sbarre di ferro e altri elementi che crediamo fermamente sarebbero stati utilizzati contro i nostri agenti.
“C’è sicuramente stato un chiaro intento di colpire gravemente gli ufficiali ed i membri della popolazione, che possano essere venuti in zona ieri sera. ”
Al culmine dei disordini di sabato, ci sarebbero state fino a 100 persone coinvolte, ha detto la polizia .
Alcuni agenti hanno riportato lesioni a testa e corpo.
Uno è stato colpito alla testa con una sbarra di ferro.
Durante i disordini la polizia ha sparato alcuni proiettili di gomma.
Il Police Ombudsman sta indagando e si è appellato ai testimoni di farsi avanti .
Un portavoce per l’Ufficio ha detto: “Stiamo cercando di ottenere una chiara comprensione di quanto accaduto, e siamo interessati a parlare con persone che possono avere assistito ai disordini nella zona compresa tra 8:00 Sabato sera e 04:00 Domenica mattina “.
La polizia ritiene che un certo numero di rivoltosi potrebbero provenire da fuori area e gli inquirenti chiedono informazioni.
Venerdì notte, quattro veicoli della polizia sono stati danneggiai durante scontri precedenti nella zona.

Third night of trouble in west Belfast
Officers were attacked for the third night in a row on Sunday during a weekend of riots in the Broadway area of west Belfast, which police say was “orchestrated”.
However, the trouble lasted less than 30 minutes.
On Saturday night, six police officers were injured during the rioting which broke out in the Broadway and Bog Meadows areas at around 8.30pm.
Petrol bombs, stones and fireworks were thrown at police by rival loyalist and nationalist gangs.
One man is believed to have attacked a police vehicle with an axe.
A number of gas cylinders were also thrown into the road and a car was set alight during the disturbances.
Area commander for west Belfast, Chief Inspector Emma Mooney said: “The violence we saw last night was orchestrated and what we did see as a result of a search was a stash of heavy masonry, heavy iron bars and other items which we firmly believe would have been used against our officers.
“There certainly was a clear intent to seriously harm officers and members of the public who may have come in the area last night.”
At the height of Saturday’s disorder up to 100 people were believed to have been involved, police said.
The injured officers sustained head and body injuries.
One was hit on the head with an iron bar.
During the trouble police fired a number of baton rounds.
The Police Ombudsman is investigating and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman for the Office said:”We are looking to get a clear understanding of what happened, and are interested in speaking to people who may have witnessed the disturbances in the area between 8pm on Saturday evening and 4am on Sunday morning.”
Police believe a number of the rioters may have come from outside the local area and detectives are appealing for information.
On Friday night, four police vehicles were damaged during previous rioting in the area.
