Una ragazza è rimasta ferita nei disordini avvenuti nel centro di Belfast a San Patrizio
La polizia afferma che la dodicenne è stata colpita da una bottiglia lanciata da una piccola folla radunatasi in Castle Junction nel pomeriggio di martedì.
La giovane è stata portata al Royal Victoria Hospital.
La polizia ha detto di aver chiuso temporaneamente Donegall Square North per problemi di ordine pubblico.
L’Ispettore Capo Robert Murdie ha avvertito: “La polizia nel centro di Belfast sta monitorando la folla che si è radunata nell’area.
“Sono stati riportati incidenti isolati di lanci di oggetti.
“Una giovane ragazza è stata portata in ospedale dopo essere stata colpita da un oggetto lanciato dalla folla a Castle Junction.
“Un trentenne è stato arrestato per disturbo della quiete pubblica in Donegall Square North e il suo fascicolo sarà trasmetto al Public Prosecution Service.
“Donegall Place è stata chiusa al traffico per il gran numero di persone raccoltesi nella zona.
“Gli agenti di polizia resteranno nella zona fino a quando saranno presenti le persone”.

Girl injured as crowds throw bottles in Belfast
A young girl has been injured during sporadic trouble in Belfast city centre on St Patrick’s Day.
Police said the 12-year-old was struck by a bottle thrown by a crowd at Castle Junction on Tuesday afternoon.
She has been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.
A man in his 30s has been arrested at Donegall Square North for disorderly behaviour.
Police said Donegall Place is currently closed to traffic due to the “large number” of people gathered and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Chief Inspector Robert Murdie continued: “Police in Belfast city centre are currently monitoring crowds which have gathered in the area.
“Isolated incidents of missiles being thrown have been reported.
“A young girl has been taken to hospital after being struck by a missile thrown from a crowd which had gathered at Castle Junction.
“A man in his 30s has been arrested for disorderly behaviour at Donegall Square North and will be reported to the Public Prosecution Service.
“Donegall Place is closed to traffic due to the large number of people gathered and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
“Officers will maintain a presence whilst crowds remain in the area.”
