Esplode autovettura a Derry. Abitazioni evacuate

Alcune case sono state evacuate a Derry nelle prime ore di martedì, dopo l’esplosione in un’autovettura

La polizia ha riferito che gli artificieri dell’esercito sono stati chiamati ad esaminare il veicolo nella zona di Circular Road.

L’esplosione è avvenuta intorno alle 3 di questa notte. Le indagini stanno continuando e la zona rimane cordonata.

Il consigliere dello SDLP Jim Clifford ha condannato l’attacco, dicendo che avrebbe potuto “uccidere o ferire gravemente qualcuno”.

“I responsabili non solo hanno messo a repentaglio la vita dei residenti ma hanno causato profondi disagi a molte persone che stanno cercando di recarsi al lavoro”, afferma Clifford.

“Non abbiamo bisogno di questo e non lo vogliamo. La gente di Creggan certamente non lo vuole”.

Homes evacuated after car explosion

A number of homes were evacuated in Londonderry in the early hours of Tuesday morning following an explosion in a car.

Police said Army bomb experts were called to examine the vehicle in the Circular Road area.

The explosion happened at about 0300 BST. Investigations are continuing and the area remains cordoned off.

SDLP councillor Jim Clifford condemned the attacked and said it could have “killed or seriously injured someone”.

“Those responsible have not only put the lives of local residents in danger but have caused widespread disruption to a great many people who have been trying to get to their work,” he said.

“We don’t need this and we don’t want this. The people of Creggan certainly don’t want this.”
