Finto ordigno lasciato presso Orange Hall a Belfast

Traffico bloccato a Belfast nel pomeriggio di domenica per un presunt ordigno lasciato tra le inferriate di un’Orange Hall

Il Westlink è stato chiuso in entrambe le direzioni per diverse ore mentre gli artificri dell’esercito hanno esaminato il dispositivo presso l’edificio a Clifton Street – a nord della città.

L’oggetto è stato successivamente dichiarato un falso intenzionale e il Westlink riaperto.

Un portavoce della polizia ha detto che poco prima della 16:00, due giovani sono stati visti lasciare l’ordigno presso la Orange Hall prima di sparire senza lasciare traccia.

All’inizio di ieri, l’autostrada M2 è stata chiusa dopo che un oggetto sospetto era stato trovato a Finlay Park a Newtownabbey.

Hoax device left at Orange hall

THERE was traffc chaos in Belfast yesterday afternoon after a hoax device was left at the
railings of an Orange hall.

The Westlink was closed in both directions for several hours as army technical offcers examined the device at the building in Clifton Street – in the north of the city.

The object was later declared a deliberate hoax and the Westlink reopened.

A police spokesman said that shortly before 4pm, two youths were seen placing the device on railings at the hall before making off on foot.

Earlier yesterday, the M2 motorway was also closed after a suspicious object was found at Finlay Park in Newtownabbey.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
