Nuova minaccia di morte contro vittima del RAAD

Un uomo di affari di Derry, colpito in precedenza dal Republican Action Against Drugs (RAAD), ha ricevuto una nuova minaccia dall’organizzazione.

La PSNI ha comunicato a Raymond Coyle, che ha preso parte ripetutamente alle proteste pubbliche contro il RAAD, della minaccia emessa dal RAAD.

La scorsa sera, il gruppo “RAAD – Not in my name” ha chiesto sostegno alla popolazione per il raduno organizzato a Guildhall Square per sabato.

Secondo i promotori, la minaccia contro Coyle dovrebbe essere annullata.

“Raymond Coyle, che è stato coinvolto pubblicamente nelle recenti proteste contro il RAAD a Derry, ha ricevuto una minaccia di morte dal RAAD. L’avvertimento afferma che sarà «giustiziato”, fa sapere in un comunicato il gruppo anti-RAAD.

“A Coyle, padre di tre bambini piccoli, il RAAD aveva già sparato e l’uomo ha parlato su una radio locale poco prima di una recente protesta a Guildhall Square.

“«RAAD – Not in my name» sta preparando un raduno pubblico questo sabato alle 15 per chiedere che la minaccia di morte contro Raymond Coyle venga immediatamente ritirata e fa appello alla popolazione cittadina di sostenere il raduno”.

Il RAAD sparò a Coyle nel febbraio 2010 perché l’uomo avrebbe venduto i cosiddetti sballi legali nel suo negozio di Derry.

RAAD victim ‘faces new threat’

A Derry businessman shot by vigilante group Republican Action Against Drugs (RAAD) has received a new threat from the organisation, an anti vigilante campaign group has said.

Raymond Coyle, who has taken part in public protests against RAAD, has reportedly received notification from the PSNI about the threat.

Last night, campaign group ‘RAAD – Not in our Name’ appealed for public support for a rally organised for Guildhall Square this Saturday.

They say the threat against Mr Coyle must be lifted.

“Raymond Coyle, who was publicly involved in recent protests against RAAD in Derry has received a death threat from RAAD. The warning said that he would be ‘executed’,” the anti-vigilante group said in a statement.

“Mr Coyle, who has three young children, was previously shot by RAAD and spoke on local radio in the run up to a recent protest in Guildhall Square.

“‘RAAD – Not in our name’ is calling a public rally this Saturday at 3pm to demand that the death threat against Raymond Coyle be lifted immediately and is appealing to the public of the city to support the rally.”

Mr Coyle was shot in February 2010 by RAAD for allegedly selling so-called legal highs at his Derry shop.
