L’ex ministro del DUP è stato contattato dai funzionari della polizia ed è stato informato dell’attacco bloccato.
Paisley ha annunciato di essere soddisfatto con i passi compiuti dalla polizia per migliorare la propria sicurezza.
Paisley, membro politico del Policing Board, è l’ultimo politico di alto livello a finire sotto la minaccia dei repubblicani.
Rappresentanti dello Sinn Fein e Jim Allister, leader del Traditional Unionist Voice, sono stati avvertiti sui rischi per la propria incolumità.
Nel frattempo, alcuni membri delle forze di sicurezza sono stati trasferiti dalle loro abitazioni dopo che alcuni di loro erano stati avvisati di essere potenziali bersagli dei repubblicani.
Una portavoce della PSNI ha riferito di non poter rilasciare dichiarazioni sulla sicurezza dei singoli individui.
“Comunque, se riceviamo informazioni che la vita di una persona potrebbe essere in pericolo, la avvisiamo in maniera appropriata. Non ignoriamo mai nulla che possa mettere una persona a rischio”, ha aggiunto.

Mr Paisley said he was satisfied with the steps the police have now taken to enhance his security.

Mr Paisley, a member of the Northern Ireland Policing Board, is the latest high profile politician to come under threat from dissidents.
Senior Sinn Féin representatives and Jim Allister, leader of the Traditionalist Unionist Voice party, have also been warned about risks to their security.
Meanwhile, a number of security force members have had to leave their homes after police advised them they could be potential targets for the extremists.
A spokeswoman for the PSNI said they did not comment on the security of individuals.
‘However, if we receive information that a person’s life may be at risk, we will inform them accordingly. We never ignore anything which may put an individual at risk,’ she added.
