Attacco in stile paramilitare contro tre uomini nella zona di West Belfast
Il ferimento è avvenuto nella zona di Glenveagh Drive.
Gli uomini, di 18, 24 e 25 anni, sono stati colpiti due volte alle gambe ciascuno intorno alle 22:30.
Sono stati trasportati in ospedale per le cure mediche. Non sarebbero in pericolo di vita.
La polizia chiede informazioni sull’attacco. Un portavoce ha aggiunto: “Il motivo per i ferimenti deve ancora essere stabilito in questa fase delle indagini”.
Il consigliere dello SDLP, Tim Attwood, ha descritto la gambizzazione dei tre uomini come un incidente molto grave.
Ha affermato: “Nessuno dà a questi delinquenti il diritto di ergersi a giudice, giuria e boia all’interno delle nostre comunità.
“Abbiamo un servizio di polizia, lasciamo fare il loro lavoro alla PSNI e permettiamo al processo e alla giustizia di prevalere”.
Paul Maskey, parlamentare di Westminster per lo Sinn Féin, ha chiesto ai responsabili di lasciare in pace gli abitanti della zona.
Il rappresentante di West Belfast afferma: “È ben documentato che le bande responsabili di questo genere di attacchi sono pesantemente coinvolte nelle criminalità.
“Non possono offrire alla comunità altro che miseria ma la gente può osservare la loro ipocrisia mentre affermano di star aiutando la comunità.
“Queste bande non fermeranno questa comunità da andare avanti e prima comprendono il messaggio che non sono benvenuti, meglio sarà”.

Three injured in west Belfast shooting
Three men have been shot in the legs in a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast.
The shootings happened in the Glenveagh Drive area of the city on Thursday.
The men, aged 25, 24 and 18, were each shot twice in the legs at around 10.30pm.
They were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police are appealing for information about the attack, and a spokesman added: “The motive for the shooting is still being investigated at this stage.”
Tim Attwood is SDLP councillor for the area. He described the shooting as a very serious incident.
He said: “Nobody has given these thugs the right to be judge, jury and enforcer in our communities.
“We have a fully accountable policing service, let the PSNI to their job and allow due process and justice to prevail.”
Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey has called for those who carried out the shooting to leave the people of the area alone.
The west Belfast representative said: “It is well documented that the gangs responsible for these types of attacks are heavily involved in criminality themselves.
“They offer the community nothing but misery and the people can see through their hypocrisy of claiming to be helping the community.
“These gangs will not stop this community from moving forward and the sooner they get the message that they are not wanted, the better.”
