Five arrested over dissident activity
Three men have been arrested in Newry and two in the Republic of Ireland by police investigating dissident republican activity in south Armagh on Wednesday.
The men arrested in Northern Ireland have been taken to the police’s specialist interrogation unit in Antrim.
Dissident activity in the south Armagh area has intensified in recent months.
In the most serious incident two weeks ago, a car bomb exploded outside Newtownhamilton police station, injuring two people.
