Double-jobbing motions fails
An Ulster Unionist motion calling for parties in the Assembly to commit to phasing out double-jobbing by 2011 has been defeated.
Instead last night a DUP motion stating that double-jobbing should be ended by 2015 was passed.
The original motion had followed the recent recommendations of the Committee on Standards in Public Life which recommended that the contentious practice should cease by 2011.
