Allarmi bomba causano chiusura strade a Lurgan
Bomb alerts close streets in town
There are two ongoing security alerts in Lurgan.
Police are examining two suspicious objects which were discovered earlier on Thursday.
The Brownlow Terrace and Lake Street/Castor Road areas of Lurgan have been closed as a result of the alerts.
However, European election polling stations at Lurgan Model and Tannaghmore primary remain open for voters, a police spokesperson said.
Sinn Fein assembly member John O’Dowd said those behind the alerts were trying to prevent people from voting.
“Those responsible for the bomb alerts have failed to garner any support and now they have shown that if they cannot muster support they will not allow the people to speak at the ballot,” he said.
