Proiettili inviati per posta a McCourt del Celtic Glasgow
Bullet threat to midfielder McCourt
NORTHERN Ireland midfielder Paddy McCourt has been sent bullets in the post, it has emerged.
The envelope addressed to the Celtic player was intercepted by postal staff at a sorting office in Glasgow. The sinister incident comes only days after a similiar threat to McCourt‘s club manager and former international, Neil Lennon.
Bullets were also sent to clubmate and Northern Ireland winger, Niall McGinn.
Earlier this week, first minister Peter Robinson led condemnation against the threats, describing the events as “disgraceful intimidation”.
He said: “There is no place for such vile sectarian behaviour in Northern Ireland.
“All right-thinking people from throughout the community will utterly condemn those who posted bullets to Neil Lennon and Niall McGinn.
“They should not be subject to such disgraceful intimidation. I strongly urge anyone with information about the identity of those responsible for this disgraceful incident to come forward and share that information with the police.”
