Boy, 15, charged, over Carrick disorder
A 15-year-old boy has been charged after violence broke out in Carrickfergus following widespread loyalist flag protests on Friday night.
Police were attacked during disorder in the West Street area of the town, with crowds throwing missiles including petrol bombs and masonry at officers.
Five baton rounds were fired by officers in an attempt to control the disorder.
The boy and a 30-year-old man also arrested by police are both facing charges of riotous assembly.
They are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
