An Garda Siochana: svelati i piani di sicurezza per le visite di Stato
Garda plans for State events unveiled
Gardaí have advised the public that comprehensive policing plans are in place for the forthcoming visits of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and President Barack Obama.
Policing plans are also in place for other high-profile sporting and entertainment events this month.
Advance details of the plans, which are primarily focused on Dublin city, Cork city, and counties Tipperary, Kildare and Meath, have been posted on the garda website.
Over the next two weeks gardaí will issue information to the public on an ongoing basis in respect of each event and location.
Other events include the UEFA Europa League final at the Aviva Stadium on 18 May, the Republic of Ireland versus Northern Ireland at Aviva on 24 May and Slane with the Kings of Leon headlining on 28 May.
Gardaí say the public should expect traffic and parking restrictions, diversions and/or road closures near any location on the itineraries of the Queen or the US President.
Pedestrians will also be limited to crossing streets and roads at designated points along key routes and may also be subject to searches by gardaí at specific points.
Traffic management information will also be available on the garda facebook page and twitter (@gardatraffic).
