Aumentano le critiche repubblicane contro Gerry Adams

Gerry Adams faces growing Republican criticism

Gerry Adams, Sinn Fein
Pressure is building on Gerry Adams with rank-and-file republicans joining a growing chorus of criticism.

The daily drip-feed of opposition to the Sinn Fein boss is growing after last week’s BBC documentary on the Disappeared and fall-out over his role in withholding information on rapist brother Liam.

Writing on the blog of former IRA prisoner Anthony McIntyre, the republicans appear angered by Mr Adams calling IRA man Brendan Hughes “a liar”.

Deceased ex-IRA commander Hughes accused Mr Adams of being a former IRA commander who orchestrated Jean McConville’s disappearace.

Ex-hunger striker Gerard Hodgins, writing on behalf of the family and friends of Mr Hughes, said: “Brendan Hughes possessed integrity, courage and humility. For him to be publicly labelled a “liar” by a man who possesses none of these characteristics is a grievous insult to the memory of Brendan Hughes.”

Republican Antaine Mac Dhomhnaill added: “Adams is irreparably damaged.”
